Hill’s expect the home nations to struggle from here on in and offer 8/11 that all the home nations are eliminated before the semi finals and have even opened a book on which of the coaches will be the first to leave his job with Wales coach Gareth Jenkins their favourite at 5/4.

Hills are also offering 7/1 that he will go to the country this year and lose; and 3/1 that he will go to the country this year - and win.

‘Brown did nothing to dampen the speculation about the date of the General Election and punters are still pouring cash on it being this year, giving us a potential six figure payout should that be the case’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Hills are offering 4/1 that Brown will call an Election on the same day that David Cameron makes his main speech to the Tory Party Conference next week.

Meanwhile, Hills now offer 7/4 that the next Election will be in 2009; 5/2 that it will be in 2008 and 5/1 in 2010 - and they have also slashed the odds that Brown will stay in office longer than Tony Blair managed, from 20/1 to 10/1.
