Wimbledon Betting - Rafa Nadal at 7/2 to beat Roger Federer
Nadal 33/1 To Upset Federer - Twice
Rafa Nadal is a 33/1 shot with William Hill to win the Wimbledon title on Sunday by beating Roger Federer - and to retain the title NEXT year. Federer is 4/6 with Hills to win it this year - and again in 2008.
Federer is 1/6 to win on Sunday with Nadal at 7/2 and Hills offer 5/4 that Federer wins 3-0; 2/1 3-1; 6/1 3-2; Nadal is 16/1 to win 3-0; 11/1 3-1; 15/2 3-2.
Hills make Federer 1/ 3 to win the first set for which Nadal is 9/4, and they go 3/1 that the first set will consist of 8 or fewer games; 10/11 nine or ten; 15/8 eleven or more.
Murray Cut again for Slam Success
Andy Murray is as short as 8/1 fourth favourite for this years Wimbledon after retaining his SAP Open title in San Jose.Murray bounced back from a set and a break down against Croatian Ivo Karlovic to win the final 6-7 (7-3) 6-4 7-6 (7-2) to clinch his second tour title.
And it’s sent the ‘layers’ running for cover with their Grand Slam prices, Sporting Odds taking the most drastic action by chopping the odds on Murray winning Wimbledon into just 8/1.
Murrays price has been reduced by all the bookies, although VC Bet are still willing to offer 14/1 which is no surprise given that there’s the small matter of four-time winner Roger Federer to overcome.
Murray ranges from 25/1 to 50/1 for the French Open but his most realistic chance of Grand Slam glory could come in the US Open.
He won the US Open boys’ title in 2004 at Flushing Meadows - which Murray has admitted is his favourite slam - and is 10/1 with Stan James to triumph in New York later this year.
Coral go 7/1 from 8/1 about him winning a Grand Slam event this year.
“Although Federer is the man to beat at Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows, and Nadal the top man on clay, Murray is now at the head of the chasing pack and has to be seen as a possible contender for Grand Slam honours,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Murray is also favourite for BBC Sports Personality of the Year, down from 9/4 to 3/1.
